Local Government

On September 17, 2008, Celio Cesar Angulo was appointed, voted in by the Council, and approved by an overwhelming majority to become the new Delegado (Mayor) in El Golfo. He is the first Delegado in the history of the town to have earned a college degree, and also the first to be able to speak English.  Angulo has lived most of his life in El Golfo.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from U.A.B.C. (University Autonomous, Baja, California in Mexicali) and worked in various positions for the government in San Luis. In addition to his new duties as Delegado, Angulo also remains the manager of the Corona Beer Store in El Golfo. It has been his goal for much of his life to become the Delegado and serve the community.
